OXY-PAHs

Comparable to Nitro-PAHs ?

9-Fluorenone

Just like Nitro-PAHs, Oxy-PAHs belong to the substituted Polyaromatic Compounds (PAC). Because of their formation mechanisms, e.g. in the context of incomplete combustion, they have the same sources. Nevertheless, oxy-PAHs may also be formed by oxidation processes that have chemical or biological sources.

Thus Oxy-PAHs appear in Diesel or gasoline exhaust, flue gases from various combustion processes, fly ash, sewage sludge, soil and other environmental matrices.

From the huge quantity of derivatives, at this stage the mas analytics focusses on 9-Fluorenone, 1,4-Phenanthrenchinone, 9,10-Anthracenchinone, 4H-Cyclopenta(def)phenanthrene-4-one, 9,10-Phenanthrenchinone, Benzo(b)fluorene-11-one and 7H-Benz(de)anthracene-7-one.
