mas | münster analytical solutions gmbh - constantly in operation!

The mas gmbh took measures at a very early stage to protect all employees and minimise the risk of infection within the company. In this way, we hope to be able to ensure that the laboratory, customer service and administration are available for you in the usual quality and reaction time. So far, there have been no impairments of any kind at mas!

So we are still looking forward to your samples and inquiries from the current main topics of PCB 47 and MOSH/MOAH analyses as well as the well-known parameters chlorinated and brominated dioxins/furans, PAHs and other contaminants.

You and your loved ones stay healthy!

MOSH / MOAH at mas gmbh

mas gmbh has recently been accredited according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005 for the determination of mineral oil hydrocarbons (MOSH/MOAH) in food, packaging material, consumables, cosmetic products and raw materials.

Currently the participation in the ring trial on the method development especially for the matrix feeding stuff is on the agenda: CEN/TC327/WG1, Animal feeding stuffs - Determinations of mineral oil saturated hydrocarbons (MOSH) and mineral oil aromatic hydrocarbons (MOAH) with on-line HPLC-GC-FID analysis.

Unsuitability of the ZEK/AfPS Test Method for the Determination of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons in Carbon Black

The study "Unsuitability of the ZEK/AfPS Test Method for the Determination of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons in Carbon Black" on behalf of the ICBA (International Carbon Black Association, New Orleans, USA) is published in Rubber Chemistry and Technology, Vol. 91 No. 1, Jan-March 2018.

Visit from Romania
Romanian colleagues "on course" at the dioxin academy

Three Romanian guests enjoyed their training course on dioxins in food matrices at the dioxin academy in August 2008.

And we enjoyed the statement coming afterwards:

"I just wanted to thank you again, for myself and our colleagues for your hospitality, kindness and patience you have shown during the very interesting and useful training.

Please send all our best wishes to all your colleagues who had the kindness to share with us their theoretical and practical experience in this interesting field."

Guests from Brazil
Two-week-course on Dioxin analyses in emissions and food

Three guests from Brazil recently enjoyed their 2-week-course on Dioxin analyses in emissions and food.

Specifically focused lectures along with active work in the laboratory (sample preparation, clean-up) framed the compactly organised event.

Next courses are in line. The mas-team is awaiting colleagues from Romania, coming this August.

Feed Monitoring
mas QA-approved laboratory

The most recent list of the QS Qualität und Sicherheit GmbH shows mas as one of the first laboratories to be aprroved for feed monitoring on Dioxins and PCBs.

Brominated Dioxins and Furans (PBDD/F)
mas widens its analytical portfolio

mas has widened its analytical portfolio by important parameters : the brominated species of polyhalogenated Dibenzo(p)dioxins and furans (PBDD/F).

We made time for this process, until we had set a validated and reliable method, which does both justice our own claims and coming up to our clients expectations.

THANKS for your patience ! But now we are able to offer the following additional analytical services in -of course- usually high mas quality :

- homologue groups tetra through heptaBDD/F
- 17 congeners with 2378-Bromo-substitution pattern
- 8 selected PBDD/F congeners according to the German Ordinance of Banning Hazardous Chemicals

mas in renowned interlaboratory comparison successful
z-scores below 0.5 for Dioxins and PCBs in food!

Around 100 laboratories participated in the 2006 interlaboratory comparison organised by the Norwegian Institute of Public Health (folkehelseinstituttet). Egg yolk, Halibut filet, mothers' milk and Standard mixtures had to be analysed.

The TEQ results as well as totals and indicator-PCB of the mas lab ranged in a z-score < 0.5 (indicator-PCB in halibut insignificantly higher). This means a deviation of the "consensus value" of less than 10 % !

Our z-scores therefore underline the high quality of our analyses in this demanding matrices.

mas now registrated in 15 of 16 federal states of Germany
Registration according to the regulations of the German Federal Clean Air Act (Bundes-Immissionsschutzgesetz) for the analysis of hazardous org

After the first and main registration in the federal state of Northrine-Westfalia from December 2005, the mas now holds the respective registration in every federal state in Germany except Berlin. A respective application for Berlin was not yet made, but will be according to clients' request .

Interview with Peter Luthardt in the journal "LaborPraxis"
"High Quality Analyses"

Probably in the June-Edition of the journal "LaborPraxis" (LaboratoryPractice) an interview with Peter Luthardt will be published regarding the topic "High Quality Analyses". This is actually a continuation of a previous interview given in 2003 about "Special analytics and its' perspectives". An interesting touchstone for the given forecast from 2003 ...

Lecture in Munich : "Analysis of special components"
Association of German Engineers VDI

On May 11th Peter Luthardt will give a lecture in Munich during the VDI-Seminar "Measuring techniques at combustion facilities". Besides some details about emissions sample preparation and clean-up/analysis of dioxins and PCBs he will give some information about the mechanisms of the toxicity reg. these substances.
